What STRIKE can do for YOU!!

What STRIKE has consistently done for players!!
There are so many benefits to STRIKE that many of you already know. For those of you that do not know, here is a brief summary about what STRIKE is and what it can do for you.
STRIKE is a 10 week program built for middle school age players through the collegiate level. This program consists of weight training, nutrition, arm strength & maintenance, baseball, speed & agility and yoga 4 days a week.
Our weight training program is geared toward coaching our athletes how to lift properly to avoid injury while gaining strength, flexibility & explosiveness. Developing and strengthening the muscles we use for baseball, will make our players better overall athletes.
In the nutrition portion of the class we teach the players what and how to eat. Learning how to eat on a daily basis, will help you become the athlete you want to become. The quality of your nutrition and sleep directly impacts your performance.
Arm Strength Program – This part of the class is used to teach proper throwing techniques, proper long toss technique and how to accelerate the arm correctly. The average velocity gain over one 10 week class is 7 mph, with some players gaining as much as 15 mph.
Arm Maintenance – Learning how to properly take care of your arm is one of the biggest parts of this class. From stretching and band work to jobes and trap 3 exercises. All of these strengthen and loosen up the arm while gaining max longevity, as well as reducing the risk of injury.
Baseball training consists of hitting, infield and outfield work. We switch up what we work on daily and try to get the most out of our time, similar to an individual lesson. We try to build as many reps and as much instruction into the baseball portion of the class as we can.
The Speed and Agility portion of the program allows us to work on footwork and balance. We spend extended time on side to side and quick movements as well as straight line running for speed. When teaching movement, we try to correct poor form with the proper mechanics for explosive movements and speed.
Yoga is great for the athlete because while strengthening and lengthening their muscles, it continues to help them understand how their bodies move. Yoga builds strength and flexibility, both of which are very important for baseball players.
