Ty Seltzer
Head Coach 13U-Seltzer/Instructor
Ty is the Head Coach of 14U Cobras-Seltzer and has been giving private instruction at Cooperstown Cages for the past six years. He has coached with the North Texas Baseball Club, North Texas Drillers and the High Desert Indians, in California. He brings a no nonsense approach to his coaching and encourages his players to play solid fundamental baseball. He aspires to create an atmosphere of dedicated work and a team first attitude, which leads to improvement on and off the baseball field.
Ty went to college at Chapman University in Orange, CA, where he played baseball, soccer and golf. After graduating in 1996 with a degree in Communications, he spent the next 5 years as a golf professional. After working at San Gabriel Country Club for three years, he pursued his dream of becoming a professional golfer on the PGA Tour. His journey lasted five years and although he never made it to the PGA Tour, he did win 13 tournaments on various mini tours around the country.
Ty is married and has two fantastic kids who are both athletes themselves. He spends his free time helping coach his kid’s baseball and soccer teams.
Ty is honored to be a part of the Cooperstown Cobras and is excited to help build a baseball power house in North Texas.
